Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 18, 2026
1. Introduction
SharpAI LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your concerns about
privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we
obtain about you when you use the SharpAI LLC desktop application
and related services, how we may use that information, with whom we
may share it, and the choices available to you. This Privacy Policy
also describes the measures we take to safeguard the information and
how you can contact us about our privacy practices.
2. Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
SharpAI LLC is a desktop application that stores most data locally
on your computer. The following information is created and stored on
your device:
- Video content and recordings — Live camera feeds,
saved video clips, and captured snapshots from your connected cameras.
- AI analysis results — Object detection data, motion
events, scene descriptions, and other analysis outputs generated by
on-device or cloud-based AI models.
- Application data — Your preferences, camera configurations,
notification rules, chat history, and event timeline, all stored in
a local SQLite database.
Information You Provide
When you configure certain features, you may provide the following
information, which is stored locally on your device:
- Camera provider credentials — Login credentials for
cloud-connected camera services such as Blink or Ring, used to authenticate
with those services on your behalf.
- Third-party AI service API keys — API keys for AI
providers such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic, used to send
analysis requests from your device to those services.
- Messaging service tokens — Bot tokens, chat IDs, or
webhook URLs for notification services such as Discord or Telegram.
Information Sent to Third-Party Services
When you configure cloud-based AI providers, SharpAI LLC sends
requests directly from your device to those services. These requests
may include camera images, video frames, or text prompts for the
purpose of AI-powered analysis and conversational interaction. The
processing of this data by third-party AI providers is governed by
their respective privacy policies.
Crash & Diagnostic Reports
To help us identify and fix software defects, SharpAI Aegis may
automatically send anonymous crash reports to our diagnostic service
provider (Sentry) when unexpected errors occur. These reports
include:
- Technical error details — The error message and code
stack trace showing where the problem occurred.
- Device information — Your operating system version,
app version, and general hardware type (e.g., CPU architecture).
Crash reports do not include any video footage, camera
images, chat messages, AI analysis results, API keys, or other personally
identifiable information. You can disable crash reporting at any time
in the application's Privacy settings.
3. How We Use the Information We Collect
We may use the information described above to:
-
Provide and operate the SharpAI LLC application and its features;
-
Perform AI-powered video analysis using on-device models and
cloud-based AI providers you configure;
-
Generate smart alerts and notifications based on detected events
and your configured rules;
- Organize video clips into a searchable, browsable timeline;
-
Enable conversational AI interaction about your camera footage
through configured AI providers;
-
Deliver notifications to your configured messaging platforms
(Discord, Telegram);
-
Improve and develop the application's features and functionality.
4. Aegis AI Cloud API Gateway — Data Terms by Plan
In addition to the local desktop application, SharpAI LLC operates a
cloud-based AI API gateway ("Aegis AI API") that routes requests to
upstream AI model providers on your behalf. When you use the Aegis AI
API, your requests — including message content and model responses —
pass through SharpAI LLC cloud infrastructure hosted in Google Cloud
(us-central1).
The data terms that apply depend on your subscription plan:
Free & Premium Plans
For users on the Free or Premium
plans, SharpAI LLC stores request messages and model responses in
our secure cloud infrastructure. This data may be used in
aggregate and anonymized form to improve Aegis AI services,
including model routing quality, cost optimization, and service
reliability. We do not sell this data to third parties or use it
to serve advertising.
- What is stored — Request message content, model
responses, token counts, latency, model identifier, and your
account identifier.
- Retention — Request logs are retained for up to
90 days, after which message content is deleted. Aggregated
usage metrics (token counts, cost) are retained for billing and
analytics purposes.
- Improvement use — Anonymized and aggregated
data (never individually attributed) may be used to improve
routing logic, detect abuse, and benchmark service quality.
Enterprise Plan
For users on the Enterprise plan, SharpAI LLC
does not store your request message content or
model response content. Only metadata (token counts, latency,
model identifier, cost, and account identifier) is stored for
billing and audit purposes. Enterprise data terms are governed by
a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) between SharpAI LLC and
your organization, which includes:
- No training commitment — Your data is never
used to train or improve any AI model or service.
- Right to deletion — You may request deletion
of all stored metadata at any time.
- Data residency — Processing location
commitments as specified in your DPA.
To obtain an Enterprise plan and execute a DPA, contact us at
service@sharpai.org.
Upstream AI Providers
The Aegis AI API forwards your requests to upstream model providers
(such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others via OpenRouter or
Fireworks AI). These providers may independently store and process
your requests under their own privacy policies and terms of service.
SharpAI LLC does not control how upstream providers handle data
after it is forwarded.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information.
When you configure third-party integrations, your device
communicates directly with those services. We are not an
intermediary in these communications. The third-party services that
your device may communicate with include:
- Camera providers (e.g., Blink, Ring) — Your device
communicates with these providers' APIs to retrieve video clips and
camera status. This communication occurs directly between your device
and the provider.
- AI model providers (e.g., Google, OpenAI, Anthropic)
— When you configure cloud AI models, requests including camera images
or text prompts are sent directly from your device to these providers
for analysis.
- Messaging platforms (e.g., Discord, Telegram) — When
you enable notifications, alert messages are sent directly from your
device to these platforms.
We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any
third-party service you choose to integrate with SharpAI LLC.
6. Your Choices
Because your data is primarily stored locally on your device, you
have direct control over it:
- Access — All your data is stored on your device in
accessible formats and is available to you at any time.
- Deletion — You can delete any or all data by removing
files from the SharpAI LLC data directory or by uninstalling the application.
- Portability — Your data is stored in standard formats
(SQLite, MP4, JPEG) that can be accessed with commonly available tools.
- Third-party integrations — You can disconnect any
third-party service at any time by removing its credentials from the
application settings. No cloud AI provider or external service is contacted
unless you explicitly configure and enable it.
- Crash reporting — You can disable anonymous crash
reports at any time in the application's Privacy settings. When disabled,
no diagnostic data is sent from your device.
7. Children's Privacy
SharpAI LLC is intended for a general audience and is not directed
to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under the age of 13.
8. Updates to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes
in our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the
"Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review
this page periodically for the latest information.
